The Baldor L1509T is a 7.5 horsepower single-phase electric motor built for air compressor duty. It runs on 230 volts at 60 Hz, turns at a nominal 3600 rpm with a 3450 rpm base speed, and is rated for continuous duty, so it can handle the demanding start and run cycles of a reciprocating compressor.
It uses a 213T frame with a foot mount and an open drip-proof tandem fan (ODTF) enclosure, which pulls cooling air across the windings while shielding them from dripping liquids.
