An equivalent coalescing filter element for Kaeser compressed air filtration, cross-referenced to Kaeser element OR170.
A coalescing element works by merging the fine oil and water aerosol carried in compressed air into droplets large enough to drain out of the housing sump. It is the stage that protects dryers, instruments, paint work and any process that cannot tolerate oil carryover. Unlike a particulate element, a coalescer does not simply plug and show a clean pressure rise as it wears, so most manufacturers specify replacement on a time basis rather than waiting on the differential pressure gauge.
