Cover controls
This starter ships with a blank cover. There are no start/stop pushbuttons, no selector switch and no pilot lights on the enclosure. In the Eaton catalog number the ninth character sets the cover control, and an A in that position means no cover-mounted pilot devices. Photos of the ECX09 family are representative and may show a cover fitted with pushbuttons or a selector switch.
To add operator controls in the field, order the Eaton C400GK1 START/STOP pushbutton cover control kit or the C400GK3 Hand/Off/Auto selector switch kit (Type 1 enclosures, Box 2 and larger; C600M1 on the smallest Box 1 enclosures). You can also wire an external start/stop station to the coil using the included N/O auxiliary contact as the seal-in, or run 2-wire control straight off a compressor pressure switch.
