An equivalent GR 4 grade coalescing element for the Donaldson/ultrafilter housing that takes 1C486050. GR 4 is a general-purpose coalescing grade, usually specified as the first fine stage after bulk liquid separation.
A coalescing cartridge does not strain oil out so much as merge the aerosol into droplets that fall to the housing sump and drain. Getting that stage right is what keeps liquid oil out of the dryer bed and the tooling behind it. Compare grades under coalescing filter elements, and see air and oil separators for the separation duty upstream at the compressor.
Replace on differential pressure. Because the grade suffix and the size code both matter, order using the full number on the element you are pulling rather than by housing size alone.
