This is a replacement activated carbon adsorber element built to fit the Donaldson/ultrafilter housing that takes part number 1C486066. Carbon adsorber cartridges sit at the polishing end of a compressed air treatment train, where they adsorb the oil vapour and odour that liquid-removing filters cannot capture.
A carbon stage only performs when the air reaching it is already clean and dry, so it belongs downstream of a coalescing stage and, in most systems, downstream of the dryer as well. If you are building or rebuilding a treatment train, our desiccant air dryers and the wider range of air dryers show what typically sits ahead of a carbon element.
Carbon elements are consumables and are replaced on a time interval rather than on differential pressure, because they load up without giving a pressure-drop warning. Order by the number printed on the cartridge you are removing so that the seat and length match your housing exactly.
Note: This is an equivalent part and not an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part number. Some manufacturers require OEM parts to maintain your warranty. | Air Supply Number: FDF0600AC-AB
