This coalescing element replaces the AG3018201 cartridge in Donaldson and Aircel compressed air filter housings. The housing, bowl and drain are not included, which is normal for a scheduled element change.
A coalescing filter removes oil aerosol and water droplets by merging them into drops heavy enough to fall to the bottom of the bowl, where the drain clears them. It is a mechanical process with no consumable chemistry involved, so the element simply loads with contaminant over time and is replaced when pressure drop climbs or the service interval comes around.
