Sized for oil and water separator service, this activated carbon bag is an equivalent to the Domnick Hunter ESMK2 element. It sits in the separator vessel and holds back the compressor lubricant suspended in drained condensate, so what leaves the unit is water rather than an oily emulsion.
Separator media does not announce when it is finished. Capacity falls off gradually, and a bag left in past its useful life quietly lets oil through while everything still looks normal from the outside. Following the recommended change interval is what keeps the discharge consistent.
Bear in mind that a separator bag cleans the condensate you drain, not the air you use. Compressed air quality is handled upstream by coalescing air filters, and you can see the complete lineup of compressed air filters for that part of the system.
