Dodge 2MBL two-groove cast iron sheave for A and B section V-belts, and for 4L and 5L fractional horsepower belts. This is Dodge's light duty bush type line, rated to 20 HP at 1750 RPM. The bore is set by a split-taper bushing rather than being machined into the sheave, so one sheave covers a 1/2 in. to 1-7/16 in. shaft range. Choose the outside diameter you need below and order the bushing separately to suit your shaft.

Which bushing to order, and a note on the "QD" label

A number of catalogs describe the 2MBL series as QD bushed. Dodge's own catalog is explicit that this series takes a split-taper H bushing, not a QD bushing. Older Baldor and Maska literature prints the identical bushing as the L bushing, and some supplier price sheets still use that letter, so an "L" callout and an "H" callout mean the same physical part here. Order an H bushing in the bore your shaft needs: 1/2 in. through 1-7/16 in. are standard, and metric bores are available.

Pitch diameter convention

Dodge publishes these with the B section pitch diameter equal to the outside diameter, and the A section pitch diameter 0.40 in. below it. Some distributors instead publish a datum diameter, which is a smaller number for the same part. The figures listed above use Dodge's own convention, so compare like with like when you are matching an existing drive.

Typical applications

Two-groove B section sheaves in this diameter range are the standard motor and flywheel pulleys on reciprocating air compressor packages, and the same sheaves drive blowers, exhaust fans, centrifugal pumps, conveyors and shop machinery wherever two belts are needed to carry the load. The split-taper bushing makes them straightforward to pull and refit on a shaft without a press.
