The Conrader RC-series pilot valve is a factory-set pressure control valve with a manual hand unloader lever, used on air compressors and compressed-air systems to switch a downstream device on a pneumatic signal. As tank pressure rises to the unload (cut-out) setting, the pilot opens and pressurizes the line downstream; as pressure falls to the load (cut-in) setting, the pilot closes and vents that line. This cyclic signal is what drives an unloader valve, throttle control, drain valve, or shuttle valve. The hand unloader lever makes for easy, low-load engine starting and can be swapped for a dual-control lockout on electric-motor compressors to switch between start/stop and continuous running.
