Conrader Discharge Unloader Valve, Toggle and Model D
The discharge unloader dumps the air trapped between the pump and the check valve so the compressor is not starting against a column of compressed air. Two versions here.
- S1614, Conrader discharge unloader with toggle, 115 to 135 PSI, with felt element
- S1625, Conrader Model D discharge valve, 1/4 in. male and female connections
The felt element on S1614 catches the oil mist that comes out with every unload. It is the reason the wall behind an old compressor is usually darker than the rest of the shop. Replace the felt when it is saturated rather than waiting for it to start spitting.
The Model D is the simpler part, and ACP publishes no pressure range for it because it is a discharge valve rather than a pressure sensing one. If you are replacing a Model D, match it to the Model D.
