Chicago Pneumatic 2204154601 Scavenge Check Valve, 0.7 mm Orifice

Part number 2204154601 is the scavenge line check valve on the Chicago Pneumatic QRS 10, QRS 15 and QRSM 20, and on the CPM 10, CPM 15 and CPM 20 built on the same frame. It threads into the compressor element right beside the temperature sensor and takes the oil return line coming back from the separator. Inside the body is a 0.7 mm calibrated nozzle, which is what the factory description means by NOZZLE 0,7.

That 0.7 mm hole is small enough to varnish shut. When it closes up, oil stops draining out of the separator and leaves with the air instead, so the complaint that walks in the door is oil carryover and high oil consumption, not a bad check valve. Chicago Pneumatic calls for cleaning and inspecting this valve at every annual service. If the one you pulled was plugged, budget for a separator element in the same visit.

Connections

G1/8 male stud with an O-ring seal into the element, and a 6 mm by 4 mm tube end on the line side.

One warning worth reading before you order. This is not the valve for the larger QRS 20 HP and QRS 20 HPD machines. Those are a separate frame with their own parts book, and the horsepower on the nameplate will not tell the two apart. Go by the model line on the data plate.
