Champion prices three installed options against the tank-mounted LV and LVR rotary vane compressors. They are fitted at the factory as part of the build, so the sensible time to buy one is when you buy the machine.
Choose the accessory from the dropdown above.
What Each One Does
| Accessory | List Price | Applies To | What It Is |
|---|---|---|---|
| Automatic Tank Drain (Electric) | $530 | Tank-mounted models only | A timed electric drain on the receiver, so condensate leaves on a schedule rather than when somebody remembers to crack the petcock |
| Vibration Isolators | $140 | Tank-mounted models only | Isolating feet between the package and the floor, which keeps structure-borne noise out of the building and is worth having in an occupied space |
| Massachusetts Code Fittings | $240 | Tank-mounted models only | Receiver fittings to Massachusetts state code. Required for installations in Massachusetts, pointless anywhere else |
All three are tank-mounted options. There is nothing to drain and nothing to isolate on a bare packaged LV or LVR unit, which is airend and motor only.
Why the Automatic Drain Is Not Optional in Practice
A receiver on a working compressor collects water continuously. The manual petcock on the bottom of the tank only works if a person opens it, and in a real shop that person forgets. What follows is a tank that slowly fills, carryover into the distribution, rust scaling off the inside of the receiver into the line, and eventually a corroded vessel. The $530 drain is the cheapest insurance on the machine.
If you want zero air loss rather than a timed drain, we carry demand and zero-loss condensate drains separately, which sense liquid level and open only when there is something to discharge.
Order-Time Deducts and No-Cost Options
Two further LV / LVR options exist in Champion's price book but cannot be sold as line items, because one is a credit and the other is free:
- Less Starter. Deduct $250 on single tank-mounted units, $430 on duplex units. Taken off the machine price at order.
- California Code. No charge. Specify with the order on tank-mounted units.
Tell us at order and we will configure the unit accordingly.
Part Numbering
Champion's August 2026 rotary price list prices these three options as columns against each model rather than giving them stock part numbers. We have given them our own SKUs, LV-ACC-ATD, LV-ACC-VIB and LV-ACC-MASS, so they can be ordered and tracked here. When we place the order with Champion they go on as configured options against your machine's model number, which is how the factory expects them.
Ideal Applications
Every tank-mounted LV or LVR installation should have the automatic drain. Vibration isolators matter where the compressor shares a floor with people, instruments or an office below. Massachusetts code fittings are required if the installation is in Massachusetts.

Ordering Notes
- These are factory-installed options. Buying one against a machine on the same order is straightforward. Retrofitting later is possible for the drain and the isolators but is a field job rather than a part swap, so talk to us first.
- Champion publishes no weights for these options, so no catalog weight is carried on these variants.
Why Buy from Air Compressor Store
We are an authorized Champion Pneumatic distributor. If you are configuring a new LV or LVR, send us the model and the installation and we will tell you which of these three you actually need, which on most jobs is the drain and nothing else.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add these to a packaged unit?
No. All three are tank-mounted options. A packaged PU model has no receiver and no feet to isolate.
Can I retrofit the automatic drain to a machine I already own?
Usually yes, but it becomes a field installation rather than a factory option, and a standalone timer or zero-loss drain from our condensate drain range is often the better answer. Ask us and we will price both ways.
Do I need Massachusetts code fittings?
Only if the compressor is being installed in Massachusetts. They add $240 at list and no capability anywhere else.
What is the difference between this drain and a zero-loss drain?
This is a timed electric drain: it opens on a schedule whether or not there is water, and discharges some compressed air every cycle. A zero-loss drain senses actual liquid level and opens only when there is condensate. The zero-loss unit costs more and wastes no air.
