Genuine Champion replacement filter elements for the FRL Series modular point-of-use filters. This listing covers all four filtration grades across the 03, 16, 26 and 30 Series bodies. Every element is a direct factory replacement: no adapters, no aftermarket fitment guessing, and no risk of a loose element bypassing unfiltered air around the seal.
Find your element part number in the cross-reference chart below, then select it from the dropdown above.

How to Read the Part Number
- CFRP: 5 micron particulate element for a CF Series filter.
- CMSP: 0.5 micron coalescing element for a CM Series filter (the S grade).
- CMTP: 0.01 micron coalescing element for a CM Series filter (the T grade).
- CMXP: Activated carbon vapor and odor removal element for a CM Series filter (the X grade).
When to Change Each Grade
| Grade | Service Interval | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 5 Micron Particulate | Annually, or when pressure drop rises | A loaded depth element costs energy in pressure drop long before it fails. |
| 0.5 and 0.01 Micron Coalescing | Annually, on schedule | A saturated coalescing element passes the oil aerosol it was fitted to catch, and it will look perfectly normal while doing so. |
| Carbon Vapor / Odor | Annually or sooner, on schedule | A spent carbon bed can release previously adsorbed hydrocarbon back into the air stream. Never run one past its interval. |
Why Element Replacement Matters
A compressed-air filter is a consumable system, not a permanent fitting. The housing lasts decades; the element does not. Running past the change interval costs money in three separate ways. First, pressure drop: every psid of drop across a loaded element burns roughly 1% of your compressor's horsepower, every hour it runs. Second, contamination breakthrough, where a saturated coalescing element re-entrains the oil it collected and delivers it downstream at full concentration. Third, scrap and rework, when that oil reaches a paint booth, a pneumatic instrument or a food-contact line. An annual element change is among the cheapest reliability spend in a compressed-air system.
Ideal Applications
Scheduled maintenance on Champion FRL Series filters at machine inlets, tool drops, air-motor feeds and pneumatic control panels. Keep a spare set of each grade on the shelf so a planned shutdown is never held up waiting on a filter element.
Why Buy from Air Compressor Store
Air Compressor Store is an authorized Champion Pneumatic distributor. These are genuine Champion elements, not aftermarket equivalents, and they carry the full factory warranty. Our compressed-air engineers can confirm fitment from your filter model number if you are not sure which element you need.
Also Available by Quote
Champion prices four elements in this family on a consult-factory basis, so they are not listed for direct purchase: CMSP-95-991 (0.5 micron, 03 Series), CMTP-95-547 (0.01 micron, 03 Series), CMXP-95-054 (carbon, 03 Series) and CMXP-95-532 (carbon, 30 Series). Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find the right element for my filter?
Use the cross-reference chart above: find your filter's model number in the right-hand column and the element part number is on the same row. If the model plate on your filter is unreadable, send us a photo of the unit and the port size and we will identify it.
Can I fit a tighter element in the same housing?
Within the CM Series bodies, the S, T and X elements are physically interchangeable, so a CM16 body will accept a 0.5 micron, 0.01 micron or carbon element. What you cannot do is put a CM element in a CF housing or the reverse. Bear in mind that a tighter element in the same body means lower flow capacity and higher pressure drop, so re-check your sizing before you change grade.
Why does my coalescing element look clean but my air is still oily?
That is the classic symptom of a saturated coalescing element. Coalescing media fails by filling with oil, not by visibly clogging, and a saturated element re-entrains oil downstream while looking perfectly serviceable. Change coalescing elements on a calendar schedule, not on inspection.
Do I need to depressurize before changing an element?
Yes. Isolate and vent the filter before opening the bowl. The Champion quick-disconnect bowl has a safety warning latch that vents residual pressure, but that is a backstop, not a substitute for proper lockout.
