Genuine Champion replacement filter elements for the CFL Series pressure vessel housings rated 625, 1,000 and 1,250 SCFM. Every one of the seven Champion filter grades is covered, from the Grade A mechanical separator through the Grade G activated carbon oil vapor element.
These are the large-vessel elements, not the modular 20 to 780 SCFM elements. If your housing has a quarter-turn bayonet head and female NPTF ports, you need a modular CFL element instead. If it is a welded vessel with 3-inch NPTM male connections, you are in the right place.

Which Element Fits Your Housing
The 625 and 1,250 SCFM vessels share a common element, designated CP plus the grade letter plus E. The 1,000 SCFM vessel uses a different element, designated C1000 plus the grade letter plus E. Match the grade letter in your housing model number to the grade letter in the element part number.

When to Change the Element
Change the element once a year, or sooner if the differential pressure gauge on the housing reads 5 PSID above the clean value. Running past that point is expensive: every PSID of pressure drop costs roughly one percent of your compressor horsepower, so a neglected element on a 200 HP plant air system quietly burns real money every shift. On coalescing grades E and F the element also loses efficiency as it loads, so oil carryover climbs downstream before the pressure drop tells you anything. Activated carbon Grade G elements have no useful differential pressure signature at all and should be changed on a strict calendar interval, typically every six to twelve months depending on inlet oil load.

Frequently Asked Questions
My housing is a CFL1000CG. Which element do I order?
The grade letter is C and the vessel is the 1,000 SCFM size, so you need C1000CE. Select Grade C and the 1000 SCFM housing option above.
Why do the 625 and 1,250 SCFM vessels use the same element?
The two vessels use a common element cartridge. The 1,250 SCFM vessel is the larger body of the two but Champion specifies the same CP element for both. The 1,000 SCFM vessel is the odd one out and takes the C1000 element.
Can I put a higher grade element in my housing?
No. The housing and element are matched as a set, and fitting a finer element than the housing was configured for will drive pressure drop up without giving you the rated performance. Change the grade at the housing level, not at the element.
Do I need to replace the o-rings too?
Inspect the head seal at every element change. Champion supplies the required seals with the element on most grades. If yours is damaged or hardened, call us and we will send the seal kit.
