Which Element Do I Need?
Match the element to the flow number stamped in your housing part number, not to your compressor size. A CFL100A housing takes a CF100AE element regardless of which drain, indicator, or connection options were specified when it was ordered. The letters near the end of a CFL part number describe the drain and the differential pressure indicator; they never change which element goes inside.

Service Interval
A Grade A separator element is not a consumable media cartridge the way a coalescing element is. There is no annual replacement schedule. Inspect it at each scheduled shutdown, clean off any scale or sludge it has collected, and replace it if the element is corroded, deformed, or damaged. Far more often, the part that needs attention on a separator is the drain: a drain stuck closed floods the housing and carries liquid downstream, while a drain stuck open bleeds compressed air continuously and quietly costs real money.

How do I find my element part number?
Read the housing part number off the label. A CFL375CAG housing takes a CF375-series element; the number after CFL is the flow size and the grade letter follows it. Call us with the housing part number if the label is unreadable.
Can I use a Grade A element in a Grade C housing?
No. The housings share a body casting but the elements are different devices. A separator element in a filter housing will not filter, and a filter element in a separator housing will load up with liquid and collapse.
Do I need to depressurize before changing an element?
Always. Isolate the filter, bleed it to zero pressure, and confirm at the drain before opening the bowl.
