Brass Captive Sleeve Nut for Compression Fittings
The brass captive sleeve nut is the clamping half of a captive-sleeve compression fitting. The sleeve (ferrule) is held captive inside the nut, so it can't cock or fall out during assembly — you thread the nut onto the fitting body, and as it tightens the captive sleeve grips and seals the tube in one motion. Sized by tube outside diameter for copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing in pneumatic and hydraulic lines.
Key specifications
- Type: Captive sleeve compression nut (sleeve held captive in the nut)
- Material: Brass
- Sizing: By tube outside diameter (OD)
- Available tube sizes: 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8"
- Compatible tubing: Copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic
- Design benefit: Captive sleeve prevents sleeve cocking and misalignment for a more reliable, leak-resistant seal
Typical applications
Air compressor plumbing, pneumatic control lines, instrumentation, and hydraulic connections where a fast, reusable, leak-resistant tube connection is needed. The captive-sleeve design speeds installation and reduces the chance of a mis-seated ferrule compared with loose-sleeve compression fittings.
Choose the brass captive sleeve nut that matches your tubing OD. Brass construction resists corrosion for long service in shop and industrial air and fluid systems.
