Equivalent coalescing filter element for Bottarini 223067. Fine-fiber coalescing media pulls oil aerosol and water mist out of the air stream and merges the captured droplets so they drain rather than pass through.
Coalescers work best when they are not doing someone else's job. A particulate stage ahead of the coalescer takes out rust, pipe scale and desiccant dust, which otherwise blind the fine media early and drive up differential pressure for no filtration gain. Staged properly, both elements last closer to their rated life.
