Equivalent coalescing filter element for Bottarini 223097, sized for the larger housings in the family. The media collects oil aerosol and water mist in depth and drains the coalesced liquid off the bottom of the element.
Large-flow coalescers earn their keep on pressure drop as much as on filtration. At high flow a loaded element can cost several psi, and that drop has to be made up at the compressor every hour it runs. A prefilter stage ahead of it is the usual way to keep the fine media working on aerosol instead of on dust.
