Equivalent coalescing element to replace Bottarini 223078. Coalescing media works by wetting. Incoming aerosol collects on the fibers, the collected liquid migrates and merges, and gravity finishes the job at the drain.
Because the mechanism depends on drainage, a coalescing filter is only as good as the drain under it. A blocked or missing drain lets collected liquid re-entrain into the air stream, and the element gets blamed for a problem it did not cause. Check the drain whenever you change the element.
Specify by the number on the old element. See coalescing filters and elements for the range, and condensate drains if the drain under the housing needs attention too.
