This is an equivalent intake air filter element built to replace Becker part 74000512 on Gebr. Becker rotary vane vacuum pumps and blowers. It sits in the pump inlet housing and catches airborne dust and grit before the incoming air reaches the vanes and the cylinder wall.
Intake filtration is the cheapest protection a vane pump gets. Becker vanes run in direct contact with the cylinder bore, so abrasive particles that slip past the inlet score both surfaces and shorten vane life. A loading element also starves the pump, which shows up as lost vacuum and higher operating temperature rather than as a dramatic failure, so most shops change intake elements on a calendar interval and keep a spare on the shelf.
Order to the part number stamped on the element you are replacing, since inlet arrangements differ across the Becker range. For other pump and compressor intake media see our air filter elements, and for complete housings and inline units browse air filters.
Note: This is an equivalent part and not an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part number. Some manufacturers require OEM parts to maintain your warranty. | Air Supply Number: KC145-036
