The Atlas Copco WEDA S50N is the 7 HP / 460V 3-Phase Y-series sludge pump that fills the gap between the contractor-favored S30N and the industrial-scale S60N. It pushes up to 370 gpm at heads to 87 ft, handles 2-inch solids without choking, and is rated for the kind of continuous duty that defines mining, large-bore tunneling, and heavy industrial wastewater work.

The Atlas Copco WEDA Difference

1. Hydraulic design optimized for two-phase flow. The vortex impeller doesn't impart momentum to solids the way a closed impeller does. Result: less wear, no clogging, predictable performance regardless of whether the medium is 5% solids or 25%.
2. Double mechanical seal in a stainless cartridge. WEDA's cartridge runs in an oil bath, with the cartridge itself replaceable as a unit — no on-site face lapping, no individual O-ring fitting.

About the Power Configuration

This 460V Y-series variant is the industrial standard — smaller cable conductors for the same kW output, lower voltage drop, and matches the typical 480V service available at commercial and industrial facilities. Phase-failure protection and rotation control are integrated into the WEDA+ protection package: the pump won't start running backward after a power blip, and it shuts down cleanly if a phase drops.
