The Atlas Copco WEDA Difference

1. Hydraulic design optimized for two-phase flow. The vortex impeller doesn't impart momentum to solids the way a closed impeller does. Result: less wear, no clogging, predictable performance regardless of whether the medium is 5% solids or 25%.
2. Double mechanical seal in a stainless cartridge. The seal is the failure mode that ends most submersible pumps. WEDA's cartridge runs in an oil bath, with the cartridge itself replaceable as a unit — no on-site face lapping, no individual O-ring fitting.
3. Dry-running tolerance. The motor jacket is oversized for thermal mass; the rotor and stator are engineered to dissipate heat into the surrounding fluid or air. The S50N survives sump-out events that would catastrophically fail a competitor unit.
4. Modular WEDA family architecture. Service procedures, lifting points, hose connections, and float-switch wiring are common across the entire WEDA Sludge range. Crews trained on the S30N are productive on the S50N within minutes.
5. Heavy-chrome wear parts where it matters. Impeller and wear ring are abrasion-resistant alloy; non-wetted components use lighter aluminum. The result is service life biased toward where the pump actually wears.

About the Power Configuration

This 230V variant is wired for three-phase service. Phase-failure protection and rotation control are integrated into the WEDA+ protection package — the pump won't start running backward after a power blip, and it shuts down cleanly if a phase drops. For long cable runs and lower voltage drop, the 460V variant (P/N 3081620735) is the standard pick on industrial sites; the 230V version is preferred where contractor generators or smaller industrial services are the available power source.
