The Atlas Copco HiLight V7+ Photocell is the automatic version of Atlas Copco's flagship diesel LED light tower — it starts itself at dusk, shuts down at dawn, and floods a worksite with 75,000+ square feet of clean, glare-free light for up to 142 hours on a single tank. An integrated photocell and Lc1003 controller with built-in scheduler mean the tower runs lights-on/lights-off on its own, with no operator on site. Prefer manual start/stop? See the HiLight V7+ Standard version.
Set It and Forget It — Dusk-to-Dawn Automation
The photocell senses ambient light and triggers an automatic dusk/dawn start and stop, while the Lc1003 controller's integrated scheduler lets you program run windows by time of day. For remote sites, unmanned pads, and long-duration deployments, that means no nightly trip to flip a switch — the tower lights when it needs to and conserves fuel when it doesn't.
Why the HiLight V7+ Stands Out
Atlas Copco engineered the V7+ around three priorities that matter on real job sites: fuel economy, noise control, and packing efficiency. The result is a light tower that uses about 0.2 gallons of diesel per hour, sits at 65 dB(A) at 23 feet, and folds down small enough to fit 10 units on a 53-foot trailer. That's a different operating cost profile than legacy metal-halide towers — and a friendlier one for noise-restricted urban work, hospitals, residential adjacencies, and night-shift highway operations.
Quad 350W SMD LED Heads
Four 350-watt Surface-Mount Device LED floodlights deliver crisp, blue-white light that the eye reads as daylight, with 20% more coverage area than older COB LED designs. The vertical 25-foot mast rotates 340° on its base, so you can chase shadows around stockpiles, deep excavations, and crane swing zones without repositioning the trailer. Beam spread covers 75,000 sq ft at an average of 20 lux and reaches out to 130,000 sq ft at the 1-lux/75° threshold — usable light to roughly 24 yards beyond the tower in every direction.

Designed for the Long Haul
The HardHat™ gull-wing canopy is roto-molded from impact-resistant polyethylene — it won't dent, rust, or chip the way sheet-metal enclosures do, and it shrugs off accidental forklift contact better than steel. A central lifting eye plus integrated forklift pockets make the unit easy to load, unload, and reposition. The wide 1,220 mm axle, torsion suspension, and DOT-compliant lighting package give the V7+ road-legal towing manners behind a half-ton truck.
Built-In Cold Weather Package
- 120V engine block heater for reliable starts down to -13°F
- Heavy-duty battery with cold-cranking margin
- Sealed electrical enclosures rated for sub-zero starts
- Spill containment frame standard — no separate purchase required
Where the HiLight V7+ Photocell Earns Its Keep
- Unmanned and remote sites — auto dusk/dawn means no nightly switch-flipping trip
- Pipeline, well-site, and oil & gas pads — hands-off operation, low refueling burden
- Highway and DOT night work — schedule run windows to match shift hours
- Disaster response and emergency lighting — quick deploy, runs for nearly a week unattended
- Security and perimeter lighting — reliable dusk-to-dawn coverage without staffing
- Mining and aggregate operations — handles 11,000 ft altitudes without derate
- Rental fleets — 10-on-a-trailer footprint plus low fuel burn = better unit economics
Aux Power for Site Tools
The 2.4 kW alternator drives an auxiliary outlet on the panel — 240 VAC 30A, Twist-Lock (NEMA 6-30R) — so the V7+ doubles as a worksite power source for higher-draw equipment, chargers, and trailer-mounted gear. Smart load balancing keeps the LEDs prioritized when aux loads spike.
Service Footprint
Atlas Copco supports the HiLight range through a North American dealer network and the Power Connect parts portal. Service kits are available at 200-, 400-, and 800-hour intervals (P/N 3002607840 / 3002607850 / 3002607860). The Kubota Z482 engine block is one of the most widely serviced industrial diesels in the world — parts and tech support are available virtually everywhere you'd take the unit.
