AirComParts Valve Hold-Down for Kellogg-American 352 and 462 Air Compressor Pumps, Low and High Pressure

Replacement valve hold-down for the Kellogg-American 352 and 462 two-stage air compressor pumps, in low-pressure and high-pressure versions. Supplied by AirComParts as part of the ACS Kellogg clone replacement line.

On a 352 or 462 the intake and exhaust valve assemblies are clamped into the cylinder head by a hold-down rather than bolted through. The hold-down takes every pressure pulse the valve makes, so it is a wear item: once it is distorted, cracked or pitted at the seat face the valve no longer sits square, and the pump loses pressure, runs hot and blows gaskets. If you are already in the head, renew the hold-down with the valve.

Do the screws at the same time

The eight valve hold-down screws for the 352 and 462 are a separate part, AirComParts K4365. Hold-down screws stretch and the heads round off after repeated removal, so it is worth fitting a fresh set whenever the valves come out. The matching valve gaskets are K4360 (HP), K4361 (LP) and K4366 (cylinder to head).
