Every one of these is a cheap part that will take a 10 to 25 HP machine out of service. A valve gasket that has hardened and crept lets air leak straight from the discharge back into the intake side: the pump runs continuously, the head glows and the discharge temperature climbs. Gaskets on a 352 or 462 are single-use. They take a set under heat and pressure, and reusing one that has been torqued down once is the most common reason a valve job leaks the day after it was done.

Change the screws with the gaskets

Valve hold-down screws stretch under repeated heat cycling and their heads round off after a few removals. The K4365 set covers eight, which is one pump's worth, and fitting fresh screws is what lets the new gaskets be torqued evenly. On a four-cylinder 462 you will need a second set.
