Hand Chamfer Tool by Prevost (For .5" to 2" Pipes)

This Prevost hand chamfer tool prepares the cut ends of aluminum air pipe so push-to-connect fittings seat cleanly and seal without damaging their O-rings. It works on pipe from 1/2 inch up to 2 inch, chamfering and smoothing the edge after a cut.

Properly chamfered ends are an important step when assembling a modular aluminum piping system, since a burr or sharp edge can nick a seal and cause a slow leak. Keeping this tool on hand makes every joint faster and more reliable.

The Prevost system is a cut-and-assemble aluminum pipe rather than threaded or welded pipe, and these are what your crew needs to make clean, leak-free joints. After cutting each length, the end has to be chamfered and deburred with the chamfering tool so it doesn't nick the O-ring going into the fitting, then a dab of the assembly gel seats the seal, and each fitting is locked down with the correct-size tightening wrench (the 3/4" and 2" keys cover the two pipe sizes on this job, plus a universal wrench). These are one-time tools, not per-fitting, so a single set covers the whole install and stays with you for any future additions.
