Ultra Coolant (part number 38459582) is Ingersoll Rand's engineered synthetic lubricant for contact-cooled rotary screw air compressors, supplied here in a 20 liter pail, roughly 5 gallons. It does three jobs at once: it lubricates the airend, carries away the heat of compression, and seals the rotor clearances so the machine holds its rated output.
Rated for an 8,000-hour change interval under normal conditions, Ultra Coolant runs cooler and resists varnish far better than a conventional compressor oil, which is what keeps separator elements and coolers clean over the long run.
