A vane air motor turns compressed air into rotary motion with no electrical supply, no heat buildup under stall, and no risk of ignition, which is why they are common on mixers, winches, conveyors, hoists and OEM machinery in wet, dusty or classified areas. Because an air motor can be stalled indefinitely without damage and comes back up to speed when the load clears, it suits duty that would burn out an electric motor.

The LZB46 designation refers to the motor size within the LZB range, and each size is offered in a number of builds. The configuration options are what buyers need to pin down: reversible or non-reversible rotation, geared or ungeared output, the shaft style and mounting arrangement, and whether the motor is specified lube-free or with lubricated air. Two LZB46 motors can look identical and behave nothing alike once you compare the speed and torque curve for that build.
