Dewatering and Submersible Pumps

Atlas Copco WEDA submersible drainage and slurry pumps, for moving water and sludge out of places it should not be. The range runs from compact units suited to site drainage up through larger industrial slurry pumps.

Drainage pumps and slurry pumps are not the same tool. A drainage pump is built to move relatively clean water with some suspended solids, which covers flooded excavations, pits, basements and general site dewatering. A slurry pump is built for abrasive, solids-heavy liquid, with wear parts chosen to survive it. Putting a drainage pump on a slurry duty is a short and expensive experiment.

When you select one, work from head and flow together rather than horsepower. The total head is the vertical lift plus the friction loss in the discharge hose, and a pump that looks generously sized on flow alone can fall well short once the hose run is accounted for. Solids handling size and the available voltage and phase are the other two things to pin down before ordering.

These sit alongside the rest of our pumps. Tell us the lift, the hose run and what you are pumping, and we will point you at the right unit.
