The ABAC AS-25503BM is a 25 HP rotary screw air compressor for plants that need high volume air at a higher line pressure without the noise and duty cycle limits of a reciprocating machine. It delivers 92.2 CFM at 150 PSI and runs at 69 dBA. This is the base mount version, so it ships without a tank and plumbs into an air receiver you already own or one sized to your demand. The package is 723 lbs in a 44 x 31 x 49 in footprint, under four feet of wall. Power is 208-230-460V three-phase.

What is inside
ABAC builds the AS-B range around a fully integrated aluminum block and an air end designed to limit air loss, which is where a screw compressor either earns or wastes the power it draws. Vertical three-stage oil separation is the other half of that: ABAC rates the design at up to 10 percent lower carbon footprint than the layout it replaced, and it is what keeps carryover down so the oil stays in the machine rather than in your air lines. Noise and vibration were engineered down at the same time, which is how a 25 HP machine lands at 69 dBA instead of the mid 80s a comparable reciprocating unit would hold all shift.
The controller is where running cost shows up day to day. It handles energy optimization, accepts a remote start and stop signal, and displays running time against loaded time, which is the most useful single number for working out whether the machine is correctly sized for the shop. It also raises service and failure warnings, so maintenance lands on schedule rather than after a failure. Food grade oil and coalescing filters are available as options rather than standard equipment, so specify them up front if your work calls for them.
How it compares
This is the 150 PSI build of the 25 HP base mount machine. Choosing it over the 125 PSI AS-25253BM trades flow for pressure: 92.2 CFM here against 98.9 CFM there, on the same frame and the same 69 dBA. Buy the pressure only if your tooling, presses or plant header actually need it, because pressure you regulate away at the drop is energy you paid for. Against the neighboring motor sizes at 150 PSI, the 20 HP AS-20S503BM gives 78 CFM at 690 lbs and the 30 HP AS-30503BM gives 103.1 CFM at 759 lbs. All three share the same 44 x 31 x 49 in base mount cabinet, so moving up or down the range costs you nothing in floor space.
On configuration, base mount is the starting point for a modular system. The AS-25503BMD is the same compressor with an integrated dryer on the skid, 831 lbs on a 55 x 31 x 49 in base, and the AS-25503TMD puts compressor, receiver and dryer into one tank mounted package at 1,330 lbs. Choose base mount when you already have a receiver, when you want the dryer sized independently, or when the mechanical room makes a tall tank mounted unit awkward to place.
Typical applications
Production and fabrication floors, automotive and fleet service bays, tire and truck shops, cabinet and woodworking shops, and any operation where a reciprocating compressor is working too hard to hold line pressure. A rotary screw is designed for continuous duty, so it maintains a steady line pressure through a full shift instead of recovering between jobs. At 150 PSI that matters most where line loss across a long run of pipe would otherwise drop a 125 PSI system below what the tool at the end of it needs.
Sizing the rest of the system
Base mount means the receiver is yours to specify. A common rule of thumb is roughly 4 gallons of storage per CFM for intermittent demand, so a 25 HP machine at 92.2 CFM typically sits behind a 350 to 450 gallon receiver, less if the load is steady. Size the receiver and the piping for the higher working pressure, leave clearance around the cabinet for cooling airflow and front access for service, and run the machine on a three-phase circuit sized to the motor nameplate. If your air reaches paint, instruments, pneumatic controls or anything that corrodes, put a refrigerated air dryer downstream rated to at least the compressor's full output, with a filter and regulator ahead of the point of use. Oil, oil filter and separator element are the service items to keep on the shelf.
