Why gas
A gas compressor goes where the power is not: new construction before the service is live, roadside and utility work, remote agricultural jobs, disaster and storm response. The tradeoff is that an engine-driven unit normally runs constant-run rather than start-stop, so the pump has to unload rather than stop, and the exhaust means it stays outdoors. Honda engines earn their place here on starting and on parts availability.
Service notes
Two maintenance schedules now, the engine's and the pump's. Engine oil, air filter and plug on Honda's interval; pump oil and intake filter on the compressor's. Drain both tanks after every use, and more often in humid weather, because a job-site machine collects more water than a shop machine ever will. The UH30 pump is available on its own as AirComParts U1261.
