The ABAC AS-25503BMD is the 25 HP base mount machine in the AS-B screw range with a refrigerated dryer already built into the cabinet. It delivers 92.2 CFM at a 150 PSI maximum and runs at 69 dBA, so it can sit on the shop floor rather than in a separate compressor room. Base mount means it ships without a receiver and plumbs into an air tank you already own or one sized to the job. With the dryer on board it measures 55 x 31 x 49 in and weighs 831 lbs. Power is 208-230-460V three-phase.

Why 150 PSI, and what it costs you
Pressure and flow move against each other on the same air end. At 150 PSI this machine gives 92.2 CFM; the 125 PSI build of the identical cabinet gives 98.9 CFM. That is roughly 7 percent of your airflow spent on the extra 25 PSI, and you pay for it in energy every hour the compressor runs. Buy the 150 PSI version when something real needs it: press and clamp circuits, higher pressure tooling, a long distribution run where line loss eats into delivered pressure, or a plant header you cannot re-pipe. If every drop in the shop is regulated down to 90 or 100 PSI anyway, the 125 PSI machine is the better buy and the cheaper one to run.
What the integrated dryer changes
Every rotary screw sends warm, saturated air downstream, and that water is what rusts piping, freezes air logic, pits tooling and ruins a paint finish. A standalone dryer solves it but has to be sized, bought, given floor space, wired and plumbed. On the BMD build the dryer is matched to the air end at the factory, mounted in the same cabinet and wired with the compressor, so one electrical connection and one air outlet finish the installation. The cost is length: the dryer adds 11 inches and 108 lbs over the plain base mount, which is still far less floor space than a separate dryer standing beside the compressor. If a filter stack and an oil water separator are also going in, plan their wall space when you lay the machine out.
Why a screw instead of another piston
A piston compressor builds air in bursts and needs time to cool between them. A rotary screw is rated for continuous duty, so it holds a flat line pressure through a full shift instead of sagging and recovering between jobs. That is why shops using air most of the day move off a reciprocating machine that is cycling hard, running hot and filling the room with noise. The trade is that a screw dislikes short cycling, so it wants a receiver sized to its output and a demand pattern that keeps it loaded.
How it compares
Across the AS-B range pressure, airflow, dryer and mounting all move independently. The AS-25253BMD is the same machine set for 125 PSI, trading pressure for airflow at 98.9 CFM in an identical 55 x 31 x 49 in cabinet. If your air is already dry, or you own a dryer that is correctly sized, the AS-25503BM is the same 92.2 CFM air end without the dryer at 723 lbs and 44 x 31 x 49 in. Stepping down, the AS-20S503BMD gives 78 CFM at a quieter 67 dBA and 798 lbs; stepping up, the AS-30503BMD carries 103.1 CFM at 70 dBA and 867 lbs. All four BMD builds share the same 55 x 31 x 49 in footprint, so moving up or down the range costs you nothing in floor space. If you do not already own a receiver, the AS-25503TMD puts the same air end and dryer on a tank.
Typical applications
Production and fabrication floors, machine shops running several CNC cells, automotive and fleet service bays, tire and truck shops, plasma and laser tables, packaging lines, press and clamp circuits, spray finishing, and any plant where moisture in the line is spoiling tools, air logic or finish quality. At 92.2 CFM it keeps a bank of air ratchets, sanders, a continuous blow off or a small sandblast cabinet fed through a shift. The base mount build is also the one to buy when you are replacing a compressor on an existing system and keeping the receiver and piping already in place.
What to pair it with
Size a receiver to your demand rather than to the pipe, give the cabinet clear air on the cooling side, keep the room out of the heat, and run the unit on its own circuit sized to the motor nameplate. Oil, oil filter and separator element are the service items, and the digital controller tracks the intervals. Behind the dryer, a coalescing filter protects paint and instrument air, and a condensate drain plus an oil water separator keeps the water the dryer pulls out of your floor and out of the drain line. See our coalescing air filters, condensate drains and oil water separators, or browse the full rotary screw air compressor range. Call us with your tool list and duty cycle and we will confirm receiver sizing, connection sizes and installation clearances before you pipe it in.
