The ABAC AS-7.5251TMD7 is a complete compressed air station on one base: a 7.5 HP rotary screw compressor, a 71 gallon air receiver and an integrated refrigerated dryer, mounted and plumbed together at the factory. It delivers 30.5 CFM at 125 PSI and runs at 67 dBA, quiet enough to sit in the work area rather than in a separate compressor room. At 60 x 23 x 57 in it is the compact way to put clean, dry shop air on one footprint, so installation comes down to setting it in place, wiring it and connecting the air line. Choose 230V single-phase (AS-7.5251TMD7) or 208-230-460V three-phase (AS-7.5253TMD7).

Why a screw instead of a piston
A piston compressor builds air in bursts and needs time to cool between them. A rotary screw runs, which is why shops that use air most of the day move to one. There is no duty cycle to watch, line pressure stays flat through a shift instead of sagging and recovering, and ABAC rates a comparable piston machine as much as 20 dBA louder than a screw. The trade is that a screw dislikes short cycling, so it wants a receiver sized to its output and a demand pattern that keeps it loaded rather than starting and stopping all day. On this build the 71 gallon receiver is already matched to the air end, so that sizing decision is made for you.
What is inside
The AS-B range is built around a fully integrated aluminum block air end, which keeps the rotors, bearings and oil circuit in one casting rather than a bolted assembly, and ABAC pairs it with an eco friendly three stage vertical oil separation process. Vertical separation reduces the risk of condensation building up and corroding the separator circuit, and it holds oil carryover under 5 ppm, so what reaches your tools and your finish is cleaner than a piston machine will deliver. The energy efficient motor and the compact cabinet limit air loss and standby losses, and the digital controller gives menu driven operation, programmed maintenance intervals and running hours at a glance rather than a pressure switch and a guess.
What the integrated dryer buys you
Air leaving any compressor is warm and saturated. As it cools in the piping that moisture drops out as liquid water, and it ends up in the tool, the finish, the cylinder or the control valve at the far end of the run. A refrigerated dryer chills the air at the compressor so the water condenses and drains there instead of travelling down the line. Buying it integrated rather than as a separate box means one electrical connection, one footprint, no interconnecting pipework to get wrong, and a dryer already matched to this compressor's output rather than guessed at. For paint and finishing work, pneumatic controls, plasma tables and tire service, drying at the source is the difference between a system that works and one that is always being chased with traps and filters.
How it compares
Within the AS-B 7.5 HP range the differences come down to storage, air treatment and pressure. The 131 gallon tank mount with dryer is the same compressor and dryer on a larger receiver at 741 lbs and a 76 in long footprint, which is the better buy if several bays pull at once or the floor space is there. Drop the dryer and the 71 gallon tank mount comes down to 507 lbs for a shop that already has air treatment downstream. The 150 PSI version of this machine trades air delivery for pressure at 27.1 CFM, so choose on whether your tools are short of volume or short of pressure. Shops replacing a compressor on existing piping can take the base mount build at 360 lbs on a 32 x 24 x 40 in footprint. If demand is already outrunning 30 CFM, the 10 HP AS-10253TMD7 steps the same package up to 36.4 CFM, and the 5 HP AS-5251TMD covers a lighter shop at 20.3 CFM.
Typical applications
ABAC builds the AS-B range for professional and industrial work where the air supply has to be continuous and the operating conditions are hard on equipment: heavy assembly, production line assembly, and cleaning and preparation work. In practice that usually looks like automotive and fleet service bays, tire shops, cabinet and woodworking shops, paint and finishing lines, and small production floors where moisture in the air line causes rejects or shortens tool life. Drying the air at the compressor keeps condensate out of the distribution piping instead of leaving it for traps and filters downstream to catch.
Setting it up
Give the cabinet clear air on the cooling side, keep it out of a hot corner, and leave working room at the service panels. The unit measures 60 x 23 x 57 in and weighs 593 lbs, so plan the route in and the pad it sits on before it arrives. Run it on its own circuit sized to the motor nameplate, and confirm the supply matches the version you order, because the single-phase and three-phase builds are different part numbers. Oil, oil filter and separator element are the service items, and the digital controller tracks the intervals for you. Call us with your own flow and duty cycle and we will check this machine against the demand before you pipe it in.
Part of the ABAC AS-B 5 to 20 HP screw range from the Atlas Copco group. See the rest of our rotary screw air compressors, the fixed speed screw compressors, and our air dryers if you are treating air for an existing machine.
CFM measured per ISO 1217 Annex C at 109 PSI for 125 PSI max units. Noise measured per ISO 2151:2004 using ISO 9614/2.
