This is the replacement bolt for the new-style D2, D3 and D4 desiccant dryer clamp with a quick-release latch. Before ordering, confirm that the part number engraved on your clamp starts with 999TC, since this bolt is for that quick-release version. Note that the 5/16-24 nut is not included, so reuse your existing nut or source one separately.
How it works
- The clamp holds the dryer housing closed around the seal, and the bolt is what draws the clamp band tight.
- On the quick-release version the latch lets you open the clamp for cartridge service without fully removing the hardware, and the bolt takes that repeated load.
- Replacing a stretched, galled or seized bolt restores correct clamp-up so the housing seals as intended.
- The mating nut on this clamp is a 5/16-24 nut, and it is not supplied with the bolt.
