The Super-Dry FSD Series is a centrifugal water separator that pulls bulk liquid water out of a compressed air line before it reaches your dryer, your filters or your tools. Five models cover 45 to 515 SCFM at 100 PSIG with 1/2" to 2" NPT inlet and outlet ports, so you can size the separator to the pipe you already run. It is built for shops that see slugs of condensate coming off an aftercooler or air receiver and want that water out of the system.
How it works
Compressed air enters the housing and passes an internal spinner that forces it into a tight rotating path. The liquid droplets are heavier than the air carrying them, so centrifugal action throws them against the vessel wall, where they run down and collect in the bowl. A built-in float drain discharges that condensate automatically, and a timer drain is offered as an option. Install an FSD separator downstream of an aftercooler or air receiver and upstream of a compressed air dryer.

The published limits shown here apply to the FSD-45-W only: a maximum inlet pressure of 232 PSIG and a maximum inlet temperature of 176°F (80°C). Super-Dry does not publish separate pressure or temperature limits for the four larger separators. Every separator in the series ships with the float drain and the internal spinner in place, and Super-Dry rates the FSD housings for excellent liquid removal efficiencies at all flow conditions.
