The CLD is the stainless steel V-band clamp that holds a Super-Dry D Series dryer housing closed. It is the part you release to get at the cartridge and the part you retighten to seal the housing again, so its condition decides how quick and how clean a service call is. Order by dryer model, with one clamp covering both the D2 and the D3.
How it works
The D Series is built so the cartridge, meaning the coalescer element, felt pads, stainless steel grids and sewed desiccant bag, can be pulled and replaced without breaking into the inlet or outlet piping. The V-band clamp is what makes that possible: it opens and closes the housing for filter changes and inspections, and its vibration resistant locking mechanism keeps the joint tight in between. High grade stainless steel gives it the strength and corrosion resistance to survive repeated service cycles in a compressed air room. Replace the clamp if the band, the T-bolt or the locking hardware is corroded, stretched or damaged.
