The BD desiccant bag is the drying media at the center of a Super-Dry D Series single-tower dryer. Each one is a sewed filtration bag filled with high quality activated alumina, the same media the D Series relies on to pull moisture out of compressed air at the point of use. Order it by the dryer it goes into, from D1 through D4, and rebuild the cartridge yourself instead of replacing the whole assembly.
How it works
Inside a D Series dryer, wet air enters through an offset inlet that spins out free water, then passes the polypropylene coalescer element, felt pads and stainless steel grids that hold back solid particulates. The air then flows upward through the sewed desiccant bag, which acts as a sponge and absorbs the remaining moisture, before a second filtration stage removes any desiccant dust. When the moisture gauge shows the desiccant is saturated, the bag is the part that has reached the end of its service life, and the stainless steel clamp on the housing makes the change fast and mess-free.
