Built as an equivalent to Deltech FE250-B, this coalescing element is a direct service replacement for the filter housing the original part was fitted to. Air flows through the media from the inside out, and the oil and water aerosols it carries are captured, merged into larger droplets and drained from the bowl.
The reason to stay ahead of element changes is rarely dramatic failure. It is the slow decline: contamination creeping downstream into valves and tools, and pressure drop climbing until the compressor is running at a higher discharge setting than it needs to.
An annual change, or a change when differential pressure rises, keeps both problems away. The full range of coalescing filters and elements lists the other sizes, and complete coalescing air filters are available when a housing needs replacing.
