This air/oil separator is supplied as an equivalent replacement for Chicopee Engineering part number CEB89, listed under Air Supply Number 01-01181. It gives maintenance teams a straightforward service option when the OEM element is hard to source or slow to arrive.
In a lubricated rotary screw compressor the separator is what keeps oil in the machine and out of the air line. The coalescing media collects the oil mist suspended in the discharge air and lets it drain back to the sump, so a worn element shows up first as oil carryover and rising pressure drop.
