Separator elements do quiet but essential work. They strip the fine oil aerosol out of the discharge stream so the lubricant returns to the sump and the air heading into your plant stays clean. Once the media loads up, differential pressure climbs and the compressor has to work harder for the same delivered air, which is why replacement at the recommended interval is cheaper than waiting.
