Champion ChampLub Mineral ISO 100 is the factory-fill lubricant for Champion R-Series and RV-Series reciprocating (piston) air compressors. It is a premium non-detergent ISO 100 / SAE 30 mineral compressor oil formulated to reduce valve deposits, resist carbon build-up on discharge valves and rings, and protect bearings and cylinder walls in splash-lubricated and pressure-lubricated Champion pumps.

Typical Crankcase Capacities
Use these figures as a starting point and always confirm the final level on the sight glass or dipstick with the compressor stopped and cool:
- R-10 / R-15 pumps: approximately 2 quarts
- R-30 pump: approximately 4 quarts
- R-70 pump (25 HP two-stage, four cylinder): approximately 6-1/3 quarts, so plan on 7 quarts for a complete change
Service Guidance
- Change the oil after the first 100 hours on a new or rebuilt pump, then every 500 operating hours or every three months, whichever comes first.
- Drain warm so the oil carries suspended carbon and moisture out with it.
- Do not mix mineral and synthetic lubricants. Switching between them calls for a full drain and refill.
- Never substitute automotive motor oil. Detergent additives hold carbon in suspension and deposit it on valves and rings.
- Change the intake filter element at the same interval so the fresh charge is not immediately contaminated.

Can I use this in a rotary screw compressor? No. ChampLub Mineral ISO 100 is formulated for reciprocating compressors. Rotary screw machines take Champion RotorLub.
Is this the same as 30 weight non-detergent oil? ISO 100 corresponds to SAE 30, but ChampLub is a compressor-specific formulation with an additive package built for high discharge temperatures and carbon control, not a general purpose SAE 30.
Mineral or synthetic? Mineral is the standard factory fill and the lower cost option on a 500 hour interval. Champion synthetic extends the interval and runs cooler. Do not mix the two.
