This is a replacement 180 degree thermal control valve with a 2.5 inch SAE connection, built to fit Sullair rotary screw air compressors. The thermal valve manages oil flow through the lubrication and cooling circuit, holding the compressor at its correct operating temperature by routing oil to the cooler once the unit warms up and bypassing it during cold starts.
Keeping the thermal valve in good condition protects the compressor from overheating and from the moisture buildup that comes with running too cool.
