This is a Viton O-ring measuring approximately 310 mm across with a 4 mm cross-section, an equivalent replacement for Kaeser part number 5.5070.0. Viton stands up to heat and oil better than standard nitrile, which makes it well suited to the warm, oily environment inside a rotary screw compressor. The O-ring seals a large housing or cover joint and keeps air and oil from leaking past it.
Fit a new one whenever you open the housing, and keep it on the shelf with our other O-rings and gaskets.
