Prevost PPS1 Compact Connection Reducing Connector
The Prevost compact connection reducing connector joins two different sizes of PPS aluminum air pipe in a single fitting. It steps a main line down where the run no longer needs full diameter, or steps a branch up off a larger header, sealing both ends through the compact connection system without welding, threading, or adapters stacked end to end.
Sizing a compressed air network properly usually means changing diameter at least once between the compressor room and the far end of the shop. Doing that with a purpose-built reducer keeps the transition smooth and the pressure drop low, which is the whole point of running aluminum in the first place.
Not the Same as the PPS1 MR Reducing Fitting
Prevost makes two families of reducers. This one is for the compact connection system used on larger diameters. The PPS1 MR reducing fitting covers the smaller grip-concept compression sizes and is a separate part, even where the nominal sizes appear to overlap. Check which system your existing run uses before ordering.
Industrial Aluminum Construction
Aluminum construction matches the rest of the PPS system and avoids the internal rust and scale that accumulate in older steel piping. The condition of the pipework directly affects pressure stability, air cleanliness, and downstream equipment protection. Rated for compressed air, vacuum, and neutral gases.
Key Features
- Genuine Prevost reducing connector for PPS compact connections
- Four size steps covering 2 1/2" down to 2" through 6" down to 4"
- Single fitting, no stacked adapters
- Aluminum construction, lightweight compared to steel fittings
- Serviceable mechanical joint that can be opened and reassembled
- Suitable for compressed air, vacuum, and neutral gas service
- Sold individually
Performance Range
The Prevost PPS system supports an operating pressure range from vacuum service up to 232 psi and a temperature range from -4°F to 176°F.
Best Uses
- Stepping a main header down as demand drops along the run
- Branching a smaller line off a large-diameter main
- Compressor room piping transitions
- Tying a new section into an existing run of different diameter
- Large-diameter aluminum air piping networks
Installation Notes
Select by the two pipe outside diameters you are joining, larger size first. Both pipe ends should be cut square and deburred. These fittings are intended for use with compatible Prevost PPS aluminum pipe and PPS compact connection components.
