Edwards Vacuum Element - Adsorber - A223-04-081
This activated carbon adsorber element replaces Edwards Vacuum part number A223-04-081. Its purpose is oil vapor and odor removal. The carbon holds vapor on its surface, which is a different mechanism from the straining and droplet capture done by the mechanical cartridges in the same housing family.
Keep the carbon last in line. It is the most easily ruined element in the stack, and a single slug of liquid oil will use up a bed that would otherwise have run for months. The mechanical cartridges that protect it are grouped under coalescing filters and elements, alongside the housings and spares in our air filters range.
Replace carbon on a calendar rather than a gauge, since capacity disappears without any change in differential pressure. Order to the exact number stamped on the cartridge you remove, because several A223-04 codes share the same overall look but differ in size.
