This activated carbon adsorber element replaces the cartridge used in the Donaldson/ultrafilter AK5/2.5 housing. It is an equivalent part, dimensionally matched to seat in the same housing bore and to seal against the same end caps as the original.
The job of a carbon stage is vapour, not droplets. Oil aerosol and water are handled upstream, which is why a carbon cartridge is specified as a polishing stage after filtration and drying. Carbon has a finite capacity and is changed on elapsed service hours. Read the number off the cartridge in the housing before ordering, since neighbouring AK sizes look similar but are not interchangeable.
