Replacement GR 2 coalescing element for domnick hunter housings that accept the K040PL cartridge. Element numbers in this family track the housing size, so the K040PL will not substitute for the K025PL or the K085PL even though all three share the same grade and construction.
A coalescing cartridge is a wear part by design. As it captures oil and water aerosol the media pack gradually fills, pressure drop across the filter climbs, and the compressor has to work harder to hold the same line pressure. Most sites change these on a fixed interval rather than waiting for a differential gauge to complain about it.
