This element is an equivalent to Domnick Hunter 050MV and is intended for medical vacuum filtration. Installed in the vacuum line ahead of the pump, it collects the liquid and particulate that a vacuum system inevitably draws in, keeping that material out of the pump and out of the discharge.
The failure mode to watch for is restriction. As the element fills, flow through it drops and vacuum performance falls off at the outlets, usually gradually enough that nobody notices until it is a complaint. Changing on a set interval avoids that drift entirely.
Use the element specified for your housing and follow the plant maintenance schedule. Facilities servicing compressed air alongside vacuum will find the matching parts under coalescing filters and elements and in the wider compressed air filters collection.
