A replacement air/oil separator crossed to Chicopee Engineering CEC1018, supplied here under Air Supply Number 01-03002. It carries out the same final oil recovery duty as the original element.
Separator elements blind off gradually rather than failing outright, so the early warnings are a rising pressure drop across the separator tank, oil top-ups arriving sooner than usual, and traces of oil in downstream filter bowls. A loaded element costs extra energy every hour it stays in service.
Fit the new element with fresh compressor oil and a new oil filter, and confirm the scavenge line and its orifice are clear. More crossovers are listed in our air/oil separators range, and the machines they serve sit under rotary screw air compressors.
