This mist eliminator element is an equivalent replacement for Busch part number 532.127413. A mist eliminator sits on the exhaust side of an oil lubricated vacuum pump, where it captures the fine oil aerosol carried out with the discharged air so that oil drains back to the pump reservoir instead of leaving as visible smoke or haze.
The element is a wear item and its condition is usually easy to read from the pump itself. Oil mist at the exhaust, oil consumption that climbs without an obvious external leak, and rising back pressure across the separator housing all point to media that has reached the end of its service life. Changing it on a set schedule keeps the pump pulling its rated vacuum and keeps oil out of the surrounding work area.
